The Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is taking new heights as UCPB Savings Bank employees join forces with UCPB-CIIF Finance & Development Foundation and UCPB-CIIF Foundation on a Bag to School Project Distribution and Teachers’ Financial Wellness lecture.
The Bag to School Project campaign was initiated by CoopGM, on June 2018 wherein UCPB Group employees were asked to voluntarily donate any amount to raise funds for the purchase of school bags for chosen DepEd schools with students coming from less fortunate families. USB employees all over the country were able to raise funds to purchase more bags than what was expected.
As part of this project, the Bank participated in one of its distribution activity,and 500 elementary students from Kaysakat Elementary School, Brgy. San Jose, Antipolo Rizal received brand new and durable bag packs. The Prinicipal, Dr. Maricel R. Tortoza expressed gratitude to the stakeholders of the project on behalf of the school. UCPB-CIIF Foundation President Ed Amistad and UCPB Savings Bank President Lizette Racela headed the bag distribution.
In support to the DepEd mandate to support Teachers’ Financial Literacy, Christine Vaquilar of the Bank Marketing Unit, Ms. Lani Bundoc, Luzon 1 Region Head and Luis Evangelista, USB Tanay Rizal Branch conducted lectures on financial wellness and how this can be achieved. This was attended by 25 teachers of Kaysakat Elementary School and 16 Principals of DepEd District II-F of Antipolo Rizal.
