Bicol Region is still reeling from the onslaught and destruction brought by the wrath of Typhoon Quinta and Super Typhoon Rolly in a week span. On November 11, 2020, portions of Camarines provinces, including the rest of Bicol encountered heavy flooding again due to heavy rains and strong winds brought by Typhoon Ulysses. As part of the Branch’s Corporate Social Responsibility, and as Bankers, USB Pili Branch Associates took the initiative to contribute and donate money initially intended for their Christmas Party.
On November 22, 2020, UCPB Pili Branch Associates coordinated with Rotary Club of Pili Centro to
conduct an Outreach Program Relief Operation for the victims of the typhoons at Brgy. Ombao,
Polpog Bula Camarines Sur. One hundred (100) packs of relief goods were prepared for one hundred
(100) identified families from the barangay. The distribution of goods, basic hygiene kits and gallons
of water was held at the Parish Church of St. Vincent Ferrer of the same barangay.
Feeding program was also part of the event. Food packs were distributed to the Residents of Sitio
Maleniza, San Roque, Bula, Camarines Sur and the evacuees from San Miguel, Bula, Camarines Sur
which were temporarily sheltered at Bula National High School.
