UCPB Savings Bank is the first bank in the Philippines that partnered with DOST-PHIVOLCS for the integration of HazardHunterPH, the country’s one-stop shop for hazard assessment such as a location prone to seismic, volcanic, or hydrometeorological hazards. The Hazard Hunter application was integrated by the Bank into property risk evaluation in March 2022.
This is a multi-beneficial approach towards a more sustainable banking process with the primary intent to protect client interest, and at the same time build the resilience of the Bank portfolios by reducing its exposure to risks and addressing sustainable financial framework per BSP Circular No. 1085 series of 2020.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between UCPBS and DOST-PHIVOLCS was formalized on November 02, 2022, at the PHIVOLCS Building in UP Complex, Diliman, Quezon City.
